Kaufman County Civic Theatre’s 2006-2007 season continues February 2 with the humorous and heartwarming stage classic, “The Rainmaker”.

Dan Tillman, Jeff Vaughan, Abel Flores and Kenny Stewart rehearse "The Rainmaker"
At the center of the play is Lizzie Curry, who is apparently doomed to a life of spinsterhood on a sun-parched ranch. As her family schemes unsuccessfully to marry her off, a silver-tongued huckster arrives with promises to end the crippling drought for a price. In the end, the spellbinder delivers much more than rain.

Sheresa Tuggle plays Lizzie and Kyle Dupree has the title role as Starbuck. The patriarch of the Curry clan is played by Dan Tillman. Jeff Vaughan and Abel Flores play brothers Noah and Jim. The cast also features Kenny Stewart as the deputy, File, and Tom Marquez as the sheriff. Dennis Gullion is the director. Emily Hunt serves as assistant director and stage manager.

Evening performances of “The Rainmaker” are at 8:00 p.m. February 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 & 17. Matinee performances are at 2:00 p.m. February 4, 11 & 18.

The theatre is located at 115 North Adelaide in Terrell. For reservations, call 972/563-8991 and leave a message or email kcctinfo@yahoo.com. The theatre’s website is www.kcct.org.
