Awards recognizing outstanding achievements during the theatrical season at the Kaufman County Civic Theatre’s third annual awards gala over the weekend.

The black-tie dinner and awards ceremony took place June 3 at The Shores Country Club in Rockwall.

The People’s Choice awards, determined by popular vote of the audience, went to Amye Majors for Grease, Sarah Garland for Who’s on First?, Raul Cabrera for It’s a Wonderful Life and Abel Flores for The Rainmaker. Elli Brown and Randall Carpenter tied for the People’s Choice award for Broadway Lights.

Awards for leading actor and actress in a play went to Kyle Dupree and Sheresa Tuggle for The Rainmaker. Chris Jones and Amye Majors won lead acting awards in a musical for their roles in Grease.

Supporting actor and actress in a play went to Dan Tillman for The Rainmaker and Kay Hinds for It’s a Wonderful Life.

Abel Flores and Elli Brown won supporting actor and actress awards for Grease. Featured actor and actress awards went to Ken Stewart for The Rainmaker and Emily Hunt for Grease.

Best performance by a juvenile actor in a play or musical went to Randall Carpenter for his work in Grease and Broadway Lights.

Jeff and Victoria Vaughan’s elaborate set for The Rainmaker won the award for best set design.

The Rainmaker won best show honors and the show’s director, Dennis Gullion, won the directing award.

Jeff Medley was recognized for his technical design of The Rainmaker.

The award for outstanding volunteer of the year went to Bonnie Smith.

Bill Glasscock and Marty Lumpkin were inducted into the KCCT Hall of Honor for their contributions to the theatre.
