Dr. Darrell Brown, assistant superintendent/executive director for curriculum, staff development and accountability at the Katy school district near Houston, was named as the lone finalist for Forney superintendent Thursday night.

“With his exceptional background in mathematics and curriculum and experience in a larger, fast-growth district, Dr. Darrell Brown is the ideal candidate to lead Forney ISD to greater levels of student success,” Board President Keith Bell said in a statement.
