He was born and raised in a town in the province of Cilicia. He was haughty, self-righteous, and a religious bigot. He was a very injurious person. He stepped on and over people to get his own way. He was named after a king and a very devoted man to his religion. He was intolerant to anyone of a faith other than his.
One day while traveling from one city to another he had an experience in which he stated that he met Christ. On that day everything changed. His life was changed; his purpose in life was changed; his religious doctrine was changed and even his name was changed. When you think about it, that’s the way it is when you meet Christ—there will be changes.
Vance Havener, an old pastor from the Carolinas once said, “If you’re what you’ve always been, then you’re not a Christian.” It’s impossible to come face to face with the God of this universe and come away unchanged. Today, if you claim to be a Christian, then what is different about your life? Saul of Tarsus was never the same after he met Jesus on the road to Damascus.
