Horse judging teams win awards

The Kaufman County 4-H Horse Judging team competed in the District IV 4-H Horse Judging contest at Cleburne. This contest is the qualifying contest for the seniors to be able to compete at the State 4-H Roundup competition held in College Station. Only the top 3 teams may qualify.

The youth representing Kaufman County on the senior team were Lynsey Culp, Lisa Roberts, Sarah Murff, and Courtney Ries. In the overall team catagory the Senior team placed first, first in Halter division, second in Performance division and first in reasons. In the Individual ranks Lynsey Culp placed third overall individual and Sarah Murff placed 9th overall individual.

Representing the two Intermediate teams was (team 1) Catlyn Wold, Kelsey Crisp, and William Morgan. On team 2 was Jessica Rushton, Nathan Stibbons, and Jamie Stamper. Team 1 placed first overall, second in reasons, third in Performance, and first in Halter. Team 2 placed 2nd overall, sixth in reasons, first in performance, and second in halter. In the Individual ranks, Jessica Rushton placed first overall, Kelsey Crisp placed second overall, Catlyn Wold placed fifth overall, and Nathan Stibbons placed sixth overall.

Johnathan Stamper competed in the junior division placing seventh overall individual.
